I've been away from the blog for quite some time now, unfortunately. Time is a precious thing and hard to find sometimes. During my exodus however, I did use my time to help this blog along, even if it wasn't through posting. I have tried to ignore most other distractions as of late and focused on getting this new template up and running. The old one was becoming cumbersome and annoying. This one, to me, is much cleaner. I hope you like... because I ain't changin' it again anytime soon!
As for the posting? Well, now that the redesign is well on the way I can now refocus on that as well. Stay tuned.

$490 Billion defense road map rollout, blacked out by media http://www.dominionpaper.ca/weblogs/amy_miller/2060 September 8, 2008 You would think something like a detailed road map of ‘the modernization of the Canadian forces’, at the big fancy 8th Conference of Defense Ministers of the Americas (CDMA) would elicit some sort discussion or analysis from the Canadian media/ chattering class. At the conference, Peter Mackay began to spin links between the need to respond to ‘natural disasters’ and ‘security of the Olympics’ with armed security. The highlight of the conference was the release of Canada's 20-year, $490 billion “Canada First Defense Strategy,” a detailed plan to modernize its armed forces and its military industry. McKay also signed a Memoranda of Understanding with his counterparts in Honduras, Guatemala and Bolivia, which falls under the Military Training Assistance Programme (MTAP). Yet hardly a boo, has been published about this week long conference, as the Republican convention in St Paul and the buzz around the soon to be announced election provided a nice blackout about things that were going on, that the media and lobbyist just aren't so interested in regular folks to know about.
So what do we know happened this week in the luxury resort of Banff where the delegates from 34 countries met under the theme of ‘Co-operation and Collaboration”? According to CP Canadian Defense Minister and host of the conference, Peter MacKay addressed the crowd by stirring their shared belief that "Now more than ever, we are all connected and need to cooperate to achieve the security, democratic development, and prosperity we all desire”.
Mackay was quoted in CP as saying that “Ministers will discuss how to co-operate on providing armed security during natural disasters such as hurricanes or major national events like the 2010 Olympic games in Vancouver”. (emphasis added)
US Defense Secretary Robert M. Iran Contra Affair Gates added his two cents to further this argument of ‘natural disaster and national events’ blending of security measures with "We have a collective dream: a free, prosperous and secure hemisphere. By working together, we can transform that dream into reality and embrace the great promise and potential of the Americas...... Sub-themes for this year's gathering include generating military assistance for regionally or nationally hosted events like the 2010 Winter Olympics in Canada and peacekeeping support in places like Haiti. CDMA's final communiqué may address the need to create a multi-nation disaster task force.” Gates also briefly mentioned the 'cooperation programs' of the very new Merida Initiative involving a U.S.-Mexico-Central America partnership which is suppose to fight drug-related violence, the Caribbean Community efforts to improve security on Caribbean waters, and the proposed South American Defense Council. The next meeting of the CDMA will be held in Bolivia in 2010.
We also know that the merging/collaboration of important economics-trade-military issues was discussed at the conference from an article by 'america.gov', who wrote “Carlo Dade, executive director of the Canadian Foundation for the Americas in Ottawa, told America.gov that hemispheric military police relations are a subject of special interest to Canada."
This 'special interest' is important to same right wing lobbyist think tank that published the report last month called “ Alberta Oil Sands: Sustainable Energy Security for the Americas?” which aptly ties in the need for military and economic cohesion between Canada and the US. "The oil sands hold the promise that both North and South America can rely on Alberta and its energy resources for decades to come, as trade within the Americas grows and Canadians become more fully integrated into pan-American economic and cultural streams." We can assume other important lobbyists were in attendance but exactly who is simply speculation without access to a list of the participants, but I am willing to guess that anyone with an interest in securing some of the contracts for the next few years, was there, starting with Lockheed Martin Canada.
The Canadian government didn’t waste any time in starting to put forward that $490 billion dollars, ‘Defense First Strategy’ as the Tories plan on giving a $1 Billion contract to upgrade the navy’s frigates to Lockheed Martin Canada this week, according to David Pugliese in his Sunday article published in the Ottawa citizen. As well the open secret Canadian mercenaries JTF2 will be moved to Trenton at a price tag of $300 million. Another $200 million will be used to revamp infrastructure in Trenton and another $140 million will be used to improve conditions at CFB Gagetown, N.B. The Military industrial/corporate complex in Canada is happy this first week of electioneering that is for sure! As the rest of Canadians probably never heard about this conference, with the 500+ military and war makers in attendance, not much debate is expected.

Afghanistan, according to the Conservatives, isn't an election priority for Canadians. Filling the North with soldiers, warplanes, and tanks, apparently, is.

"I’m glad our government is finally seeing the potential of the Canadian Arctic and is making real plans to protect and defend it... A serious military presence is what we need and that’s what Stephen Harper is giving us... we have to show the world we have the military means to assert our sovereignty... Conservatives are talking about respect for our Northern governments, economic development, environmental protection and increased military presence as means to assert sovereignty in our Arctic..."

Canadian Truth Tour 2008
Canadian Truth Tour 2008 August 29th - September 15th: Vancouver to Ottawa Truth Tour 2008 8-9-8 By: Drew Noftle
Vancouver BC – What started out as a simple petition, has turned into a lot more. The Vancouver 9/11 Truth Society is proud to announce the launch of the 2008 Truth Tour, set for August 29th – September 15th, 2008.
On August 29th, a busload of hard working and dedicated Vancouver 9/11 Truth activists will begin their trip across the country to meet up with their counterparts in Eastern Canada, and join them in Montreal for the March on Ottawa that will be commencing Sept 7th. During their 8 day trip across the country, they will be stopping in various cities along the way to give away free DVD’s, educate people about the flaws of the 9/11 Commission Report, continue to collect signatures and show the country that 9/11 Truth will not quit – not until this war is over, and not until Canadian troops are back home.
Bus stops are currently planned for Kelowna BC, Nelson BC, Calgary AB, Regina SK, Winnipeg MN, Thunder Bay ON, Sudbury ON, and Toronto ON. At each of these 8 towns, these 10 members of the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Society will set up an educational booth, break out the megaphone, and wake up Canadians who have yet to see members of the movement in action. The ‘Truth Bus’ will also be fully equipped with a flat screen for in-bus movie screenings, a projector for street ‘culture jamming’, and a very powerful FM transmitter for whatever they can think of.

Included among these 10 activists, are 2 hip hop artists – Gemineye and Zaddik of Conspirituality. These two socially, politically, and spiritually aware artists have recently released their debut album that has been 10 years in the making. It will be available for the first time on this tour, and they will be performing wherever possible along the way. Oh yes, and the petition that got us here! Here is the update:
June 10th: NDP deputy leader Libby Davies reads petition into Parliament. The petition is then forwarded to the office of former CSIS agent Stockwell Day – current Minister of Public Safety and Health. His office is given 45 days to respond.
July 25th: Stockwell’s 45 days are up. Members of the Canadian 9/11 Truth movement continue to make phone calls and send him emails, all of which remain unanswered
July 31st: the office of Stockwell Day tells an activist that they are not sure where the petition even is, and informs her that it has not even been looked at.
August 7th, 2008: after a two day fax campaign, and the threat of going to the Toronto Star with the story of Stockwell failing to fulfill his duty of reporting on the petition in under 45 days, he quietly informs a member of Nanaimo 9/11 Truth that the petition has been forward to MP David Emerson – Canada’s Minister of Foreign Affairs. (who is currently in Beijing watching the Olympics)
For anyone who does not follow Canadian politics, David Emerson and Stockwell Day are 2 of the most crooked and disrespected politicians in Canadian Parliament. We are 99.8% sure that our petition will be rejected. However, we are prepared for this. The petition is just the first step of a larger plan - Signatures will continue to be collected long after this rejection comes about. The next step is the 2008 Truth tour, the March on Ottawa, and the 4 day occupation of Parliament Hill.
March on Ottawa:
This will begin September 7th, 2008 with a rally at Mont Royal Park. The hundreds of Marchers will then put on their walking shoes, and head off for Ottawa at 2:00pm. This march will take about 5 days, and the Marchers will be stopping at various campgrounds along the way. Why a march? What does walking prove? Similar questions were asked to Terry Fox when he began his Marathon of Hope on April 12th, 1980. Walking can help bring a sense of peace to those participating, and shows the strong sense of commitment to those who watch from the sidelines. This march will build friendships, solidify commitments, and bring about further awareness for 9/11 Truth. The Vancouver 9/11 Truth Conference held in June of last year was a starting point for many more city chapters to be formed. The Occupation of Parliament Hill:
After arriving on the Hill at noon on September 11th, 2008, we plan to stay to greet our Parliamentarians who are due back in the office on the morning of September 15th, 2008.
On September 11th, we will have various workshops, speeches from activists throughout the movement in Canada, and musical performances from Distant Society, Conspirituality, and many others. We are expecting the turnout to be in the 10’s of thousands. This promises to be by far the largest 9/11 Truth event in Canadian history. If you are Canadian, please do everything you can to join us on this historic day!! The speeches and workshops will be focused on Canadian 9/11 Truth activism, and we will have suggestions on how to obtain 9/11 Truth, how to get a truly independent investigation, and how to restructure a post 9/11 Truth society. During the days following the 11th, we will make sure that not one person in Ottawa is unaware of our presence. Vancouver’s Truth Bus will be circling downtown spreading awareness, and activist will keep it’s presence on the Hill from dusk till dawn (as pertaining to Canadian law)
For six years now Canadians have been asking questions. Now the time for questions is over. Now we will demand answers. This September 11th, we will demand the Truth!

The Government, from the day of the reading, has 45 days to respond. Stockwell Day ended up being the one appointed to do this. How fitting. Drew in Vancouver sums it up best:
Vancouver BC - Rob Duffy, Assistant to Canadian MP Libby Davies, has informed the Vancouver 9/11 Truth Society that the petition read in Canadian Parliament last Tuesday regarding the demand for a Canadian Investigation into 9/11 will be handled by none other than Canadian Minister of Public Safety, Stockwell Day.
Although such a document should likely be placed on the desk of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, perhaps some insight was used when the decision was made to forward this homework assignment to Mr. Day instead.
When we look at the credentials of Mr. Day we can see why this decision was made. Indeed, we see that no other Minister should have such a grand understanding of 9/11 than him. Mr. Day understands intelligence. He is a former CSIS agent himself. CSIS showed Canada it’s impressive counter terrorist abilities by uncovering the Air India Bombing plot in 1985 well before it happened. Mr. Day is also a former evangelical pastor. Therefore, he knows the need for us to all prepare now for the rapture and how a war with Iran will expedite its arrival. Evangelical Minister and fiction novelist Tim LaHaye used this ideology to win over votes for George W. Bush in 2000, just as Jerry Farwell did for Regean 20 years earlier. ( See The Fall of the House of Bush – Craig Unger) In addition, Stockwell Day is also a member of the Fraser Institute. Some of the main goals of the Fraser Institute is to privatize Canada’s cherished health care system and pave the way for pharmaceuticals, as well as promote neo-con thought by sponsoring Kare Rove’s and Zbigniew Bbrezinski’s visits to Canada.
We are sure that Mr. Day (I refrain from using his proper title Honorable as I save this for those who are deserving of such a title, not those who were appointed to it) will do no more than dismiss our demands outright. But we are prepared for this – we will converge on Ottawa Sept. 11th 2008 for a massive rally – www.marchonottawa2008.org – and prepare some long term actions, as Parliament reconvenes Sept. 15th.
What possible actions could we take to show our seriousness, and persuade Mr. Day and the Canadian Parliament re-consider the demands of our petition? One option would be to follow in the footsteps of Blair Gadsby, who maintained a courageous 17 day hunger strike outside of the Arizona office of US Senator John McCain. Gadsby’s dedication to truth and justice got his attention of State Senator Karen Johnson, who delivered an emotional presentation to the Arizona State Senate regarding 9/11 Truth (The first time in American history!) http://www.911blogger.com/node/16055 Day however, has faced hunger strikers before. Last year three Canadians being held at Kingston Immigration Holding Centre, (without charges) Mohammad Mahjoub, Mahmoud Jaballah, and Hassan Almrei, went on a hunger strike to protest the conditions and reasoning of their stay. While in their 10th week of hunger striking, the press asked Mr. Day what he plans to do about it. He stated that the hunger strike was not legitimate since "[They have a] refrigerator stocked with a variety of juices, soy milk, honey and chocolate sauce." http://www.homesnotbombs.ca/feb4update.htm But then again, Caucasian Hunger strikers at Parliament Hill might have a different effect than Hunger Strikers with Arab names who are sitting in a jail cell where no one can see them.
I myself have little faith in Stockwell Day. I will however, give him a chance while our petition sits on his desk. I will be calling him every day until we get an answer. I encourage all other Canadians - and Americans for that matter - to do the same:

June 10, 2008 will be a moment in the 9/11 Truth movement we can all look back on and be extremely proud. For all of you who have spent countless hours reading books, watching DVD's, searching the internet, investigating what happened on 9/11, researching til 2, 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning, knowing you had to get up soon to go to work but you couldn't pull yourself away from this. For all of you who have been ridiculed, laughed at and have been told that you are nuts. For all of you who decided that it's time to do something about the obvious lies and cover-up by our government and media. For all of you who have stood on a street corner holding a 9/11 Truth sign and have absorbed a middle finger or heard the voice of a sheeple yelling, " GET A JOB !! " For all of you who have sacrificed your time, energy and money to organize a speaking engagement in your home town, only to be completely ignored by the media. For all of you who have made phone calls to your local representatives, radio stations, television and print media urging them to look into 9/11. For all of you who have experienced sleepless nights because you know something is very wrong with our country, our press and our democracy. For all of you who have a voice, but at times go unheard or suppressed. For all of you who stand up when it's uncomfortable, when it's inconvenient or when it's down right hard to do so. For all of you who stood by Blair and cheered him on. For all of you who continue to ASK QUESTIONS AND DEMAND ANSWERS. For all of you who wish you had a State Senator who could be your voice for you. For all of you who know that there is only one Senator from Arizona who stands for the Truth and it's not John McCain. It's Karen Johnson !! For all of you who work to achieve accountability for the victims of 9/11 and their families and for all of you who know 9/11 WAS AN INSIDE JOB, this is for you. PETITION FOR CANADIAN 9/11 INVESTIGATION TO BE READ INTO PARLIAMENT TUESDAY JUNE 10th, 2008

A few months ago various 9/11 Truth activists across Canada got together to compose a Parliamentary Petition demanding an investigation into 9/11. The first 500 signatures were submitted last week, verified, and accepted. This petition will be read into Parliament on Tuesday June the 10th, at approx 10 am EST, by East Vancouver member of Parliament Libby Davies.
The 9/11 attacks not only killed 24 Canadians, but it is also our sole reason for participating in – and now enduring – the War on Terror. Upon the outset of the War in Afghanistan, former US Secretary of State Colin Powell (who will be in Vancouver June 12th) promised Canada a whitepaper linking the September 11th attacks with Osama bin Laden in exchange for our premature participation in the conflict in Afghanistan. This whitepaper never came, yet our troops are still fighting abroad.
To date, the United States of America has yet to convict a single person in a court of law for the crimes of September 11th. Both official US reports, The 9/11 Commission Report and the NIST Federal Building and Fire Safety Investigation of the World Trade Center Disaster created more questions than answers, and cannot be credited as final accounts. Thus, in absence of our whitepaper or any other credible report, Canada must now take it upon itself to investigate the crimes of September 11th, not only for the sake of those in Canada who lost their loved ones, but also to justify our war efforts in Afghanistan, or to bring a cause for an immediate withdrawal.
Ms. Davies, who is the deputy leader of the Federal NDP, has served as an MP in East Vancouver since 1997, easily winning in 4 consecutive elections. We would like to call on all Canadians to please send her an email thanking her for doing what she can to bring the topic of 9/11 into the Canadian Parliament: Davies.L@parl.gc.ca.
Although this petition has already been submitted, we still wish to collect as many signatures as we can to show our true numbers. These yet to be collected signatures will then be added to our current tally, and a total will be read outside of Parliament on September 11th 2008 in support of bringing our demands to fruition. This rally on Parliament Hill, will succeed a March on Ottawa, that will start in Montreal QC, 5 day’s earlier This March on Ottawa will be the first nationally organized 9/11 Truth event here in Canada and we are anticipating on having thousands of marchers and participants rally with us in Ottawa: www.marchonottawa2008.org

Gary, Marilyn, Marina and Wayne of Fraser Valley 9/11 Truth were back in Maple Ridge on this unseasonably cold and windy Mother's Day, at the corner of 224th and Dewdney Trk. Road - the busiest intersection in the centre of this Fraser Valley town of 73,000. Though thick clouds loomed overhead for most of the day, it was dry and the streets full of people out with their moms, many of whom stopped to enquire and to share their own thoughts on the events of 9/11, the 'Mother of all Deceptions' of the 21st Century! Here we go Our busiest truthaction ever! A BIG thanks to our anonymous donors! Two guys saw our video last month on YouTube and showed up with 400 blank DVDs for us!!
To my knowledge, this was the first activism for 9/11 truth of this type here in St. John's, and though there were only 2 of us out there getting active, the weather was crappy and very few people were out walking to hand DVD's to, the day was a total success. We had no confrontations, no back-talking and literally nothing negative happen. It was a wonderful experience and I hope that people out there who were driving by get inspired and get out there with us next month.
On the 11th of every month, Victoria 911 Truth Group performs their Canadian duty, "Standing on Guard" and leading the way for change in Victoria; dropping their banners and gathering attention to the worst terrorist attacks in the history of human kind; encouraging everyone to investigate the events of 9/11

High-Level Officials Warn of Fake Terror - Post April 30th A variety of current and former high-level officials have recently warned that the Bush administration is attempting to instill a dictatorship in America, and will itself carry out a fake terrorist attack in order to obtain one.
Background
FBI agents, Time Magazine, Keith Olbermann and The Washington Post and Rolling Stone have all stated that the administration has issued terror alerts based on scant intelligence in order to rally people around the flag when the administration was suffering in the polls. This implies — as an initial matter only — that the administration will play fast and loose with the facts in order to instill fear for political purposes
But would the government actually kills its own people to instill sufficient fear so that it can get what it wants? Read what the following very smart people are saying, and then judge for yourself:
The former assistant secretary of treasury in the Reagan administration, called the "Father of Reaganomics", who is a former editor and columnist for the Wall Street Journal, Business Week, and Scripps Howard News Service, and, said:

If the Bush administration wants to continue its wars in the Middle East and to entrench the "unitary executive" at home, it will have to conduct some false flag operations that will both frighten and anger the American people and make them accept Bush's declaration of "national emergency" and the return of the draft. Alternatively, the administration could simply allow any real terrorist plot to proceed without hindrance.
A series of staged or permitted attacks would be spun by the captive media as a vindication of the neoconsevatives' Islamophobic policy, the intention of which is to destroy all Middle Eastern governments that are not American puppet states. Success would give the US control over oil, but the main purpose is to eliminate any resistance to Israel's complete absorption of Palestine into Greater Israel.
Think about it. If another 9/11-type "security failure" were not in the works, why would Homeland Security czar Chertoff go to the trouble of convincing the Chicago Tribune that Americans have become complacent about terrorist threats and that he has "a gut feeling" that America will soon be hit hard?
